Wine enjoyment with tradition, since 1641. Here is further proof that the Rheingau produces great wines. To be more precise, that's what we do - Bernhard & Jennifer Bickelmaier. We both grew up in the beautiful Rheingau and have found our calling. Without really planning it, we make wine and have developed into a great working team, both professionally and privately. As a traditional winery, we cultivate almost 8 hectares of vineyards in the Rheingau districts of Oestrich, Mittelheim and Erbach and predominantly produce typical Riesling wines. In addition to the majority share of 75 percent Riesling, a few grapes on the bottle that are rather atypical for the Rheingau are intended to give our wine selection an additional profile. Pinot Gris, Red Riesling - which is known as the original grape variety of Riesling, Accent - a highly aromatic red wine are the selected players. We share our goals wholeheartedly! Together we produce fresh, typical wines that don't fill you up. We cultivate our vineyards conventionally and pay close attention to a good ecological balance! Because as winemakers we work with nature and not against nature. We therefore use as little as possible and as much as necessary of pesticides. The cultivation of our vines is quality-oriented. High grape quality is what every winemaker works towards. For our premium wines, we also divide the grapes to obtain a better leaf-to-fruit ratio. With this step we increase the subsequent must weight and the grapes develop stronger aromas. Gentle grape processing is very important to us! In our quality-oriented cellar work, we process our wine reductively to bind the natural carbon dioxide and to retain the aromas that have already developed. Our wines are developed as quality wines, Praedikat wines, Spaetlese and Auslese wines. The story behind our name can actually be told quickly. For us it was clear that the name said it all! The tradition that the winery can look back on offers the best template for this. Why should you formulate something complicated when the wheel has long been invented?
